Reflection

"Synopsis “Kuah Beulangong: A Taste of Aceh’s Heritage” tells the story of five Acehnese people who come together to prepare Kuah Beulangong, a traditional dish cooked in a large pot and often shared during community gatherings. Fatimah, an older woman who understands the tradition, introduces Zahra and Farhan to the history and cultural meaning behind the dish. As the story develops, Zahra and Farhan realize that traditional foods and customs may become less familiar to younger generations as times change. This becomes a challenge for them: how can they help preserve their cultural heritage? With guidance from Fatimah, Aisyah, and Rahman, they learn how to prepare Kuah Beulangong and experience the spirit of gotong royong, or cooperation. Through cooking and sharing the meal together, they discover that Kuah Beulangong is not simply food, but a symbol of history, togetherness, generosity, and cultural identity. The story ends with the younger generation taking part in the tradition, showing that cultural heritage can continue to live when it is learned, shared, and passed from one generation to the next."
